works flawlessly with my ibook G4. all i had to do was plug it in, turn on the TV and everything showed up. amazing the way macs work. :)

If you have a G4 iMac and the monitor is on the way out and you don't want to replace the inverter, this is the product for you. Makes life a lot simpler and easier for testing monitors or video cards.

It's hard to complain when your boss surprises you by replacing your 2-yr-old G4 QuickSilver with a brand new G5, even when you can't use it because your boss "forgot" to get you that sweet 30" Apple Cinema Display you've had your eye on. I run dual monitors - the G5 came with one of these adapters, but I needed a second one to hook up my other 20" monitor. Like all Apple products, this little adapter is beautiful to look at - white like the new generation of keyboards, smooth and just sexy. Connects quickly, never a problem. Viva la Macintosh!

This works just fine with the eMac usb 2.0 2005 model at 1.42. I plugged my 19" Dell monitor in and it only ghosted the image. As I understand you can use it as a expanded view. I did have to play around with the monitor setting to view the whole screen but it did work just fine. the specks on my monitor were 1400 x 900.
Adding life to an old G4 emac March 19, 2009

I was in need of a work machine at home, but didn't have to cash to buy something new. We had an old G4 emac that had a failing monitor, but when I realized that I could connect it to an external monitor with this adapter, the old mac regained new life.
